The recent interest in the law of attraction has generated enthusiasm, curiosity and harsh criticism from skeptics.

But that doesn’t stop 38-year-old Michigan interior decorator Terry Grahl, from successfully employing the principles from ‘The Secret’ which boldly promises a “new era for humankind.”

While many people are compelled to master the law of attraction in order to obtain material possessions, Terry is focused on attracting the right people into her life to assist in accomplishing community outreach goals.

Her latest project, called ‘Project Hopeful Haven’ is to transform a bleak and dismal women’s shelter into an inspirational space which, through community support, “will become a beloved home for all who live within its walls,” explained Grahl. “I visualize a magical place where all the women can believe in their inner dreams, always have hope and heal their broken spirits.”

Plans to revamp the dorm from people with deeper pockets than the passionate mother of four, have fallen through, making the outcome of this project even more suspenseful for the director and women of the shelter. But that hasn’t shaken Terry’s determination to begin the makeover in May, 2007.

Before - Project Hopeful Haven

“My goal is to make-over the entire bedroom where all 30 women sleep,” explained Terry, owner of Terry’s Enchanted Cottage, shortly after visiting the Detroit shelter in January. “I left the shelter in tears determined and inspired to transform all of the womens’ lives.”

Terry knows that she cannot accomplish her goal alone, and through the power of the law of attraction in action, has received sizable donations of cash, furniture and other items needed to fulfill on her vision.

But there are still opportunities to contribute, which is where you, the reader, now get woven into the tapestry of this success story in the making.

“My goal is to reach as many angels as possible to help make this dream a reality for all of these women,” explains Terry. “I suspect that the people who hear about this, are precisely the ones I need to make the ‘Hopeful Haven Project’ dream come true.”

Her wish list includes items, such as painting and craft supplies, exercise equipment, bedspreads, bath towels, the movie ‘The Secret’ and a personal call from Oprah Winfrey!

Project Hopeful Haven

“I truly believe we all can make a difference in how the women think, believe and dream just by changing thier surroundings from a negative to a positive Hopeful Haven. We must stop domestic violence and stop the torch from being passed on to our daughters.”
